In the German soldiers belt during WWI and WWII it said that “Gott mit uns” God is with us. God is on our side. Did they believe that? Why not? Was there a god on their side? If not, on whose side a god was then in that war? On the side of the victor? Did god ally with Stalin and Mao?

Here is a song by Motörhead:

Here are lyrics to the  song:

God Was Never On Your Side

If the stars fall down on me
And the sun refuse to shine
Then may the shackles be undone,
And all the old words, cease to rhyme.
If the skies, turn into stone,
It will matter not at all,
For there is no heaven in the sky,
Hell does not wait for our downfall,

Let the voice of reason shine,
Let the pious vanish for all times,
God’s face is, hidden, all unseen,
You can’t ask him what it all means
He was never on your side,
God was never on your side
Let right or wrong, alone decide,
God was never on your side.

See the ten thousand ministries,
See the holy righteous dogs,
They claim to heal
but all they do is steal,
Abuse your faith, cheat & rob.
If god is wise, why is he still,
When these false prophets
call him friends,
Why is he silent, is he blind,
Are we abandoned in the end?

Let the sword of reason shine,
Let us be free of prayer & shrine
God’s face is hidden, turned away
He never has a word to say
He was never on your side
God was never on your side
Let right or wrong, alone decide,
God was never on your side.
(No, No, No)

He was never on your side,
God was never on your side
Never, Never, Never, Never,
Never on your side [x2]
God was never on your side,
Never on your side.

It has been over ten years since the 9.11. attacks. Their logical conclusion is that there are no benevolent gods. If this is not obvious to you, let me elaborate. If the god of the Islamic people was true, that entity would have stopped the wile terror act done in the name of that particular god. If their god was not willing to stop men from doing it, it means either that this god was unable, or unwilling to stop them. If it was unable, it is hardly able to create galaxies. If it was unwilling, it is a malicious god, since so many innocent people died in that attack, and what has resulted to the followers of this god from that act is the wrath of the US military power and embargoes on them in all horror. However, if their god is false and there is a nother kind of god, like for example the god of the Christians, why did that god not interfere? Does it not have any decency? Any ethical person, or entity who could have stopped that horrible terror act on innocent civillians (even within such macabre symbols of world domination as the WTC towers were), and all those to whom the US has retaliated to, would have done so. Correct? Why not?  If there is such an entity, be it Jesus, Allah, or any other, that alledgedly had the power to know what was coming, but did not act to stop it, it means it was being totally unethical and down right monstrous.

If the motive of the supreme being not to interfere in religious violence, is that people have free will, then why bother to interfere at all? What are all the holy books then? Attempts to interfere with our free will to do harm on each other? These books are filled with instructions, that deeply religious people of faith use to harm other people and even themselves in all honesty and faith. Why do not gods – any gods at all – reveal to these people that they are being foolish and wrong? If it is not the intention of these books to motivate violence, then why were the gods unable to make it clear enough for all people not to read into them such malice and idiocy? Why should people choose between these old storybooks to be saved from eternal toruture, or even to live their lives well? We have none what so ever information about the afterlife exept these storybooks, that contradict each other on the matter, but we may know how to live fine and freely choose good over evil even without the help of these books.

What it all comes down to is, that if a god did not decide to step in to stop the terrorists, then the free will of the terrorists was more valuable to the gods than that of the victims. Correct? Surely, the free will of the victims would have been to continue their lives. So, if then a god allowed them to be brutally murdered, it was the free will of the murderer, that the god saw more valuable, than that of the victim. What if the victim was the follower, of the wrong god, or sect and ends up in eternal suffering? What if that was only the result of the backround culture of the victim. If she/he was not truly evil at heart? Could that person be really responsible for not choosing the same god some other dude had followed from childhood? Is it a fair punisment, that the victim suffers for an eternity? Eternity!!! And what, if that very same victim would have turned to the right god on the next day, or some other day long after the terror attack?

The fact that we do not understand the logic gods present in allowing religious violence does not excuse us to worship them, as long as they have ever allowed any of it. There is no evidence of the existance of any gods. If they do exist, then they obviously are incabable of  humane ethics, or are downright malicious in their intent. We have no proof of them being benevolent at all, but we are assured by their followers, that they appriciate worship and blind obidience over ethics. What does that sound to you? Am I wrong?

Why is it, that gods so often leave their dirty work to be done by men? Why is it that so often people who firmly believe to be doing the gods bidding in this world do the most terrible things? Never mind the terrible things that men do for other reasons, why does not a god interfere and stop any of them? You may be angry at me after reading this, but do you think your god is unable to punish me for my heretical thoughts? Or does your god need your help? Is your god impotent enough not to be able to punish me for my thought crime?

Are gods evil? Do they set the rival tribes against each other and enjoy watching us kill each other? People do not choose to follow this, or that god, exept in very rare cases, rather they are born into cultures where they learn what gods are supposedly true. In addition many cultures teach them, that their god is on their side in a conflict. And when a person is in a terrible place and situation where death lurks behind every corner, that person is wery supsebtible indeed to hope that there is some supernatural force to look out for them, but does that supernatural force look out for someone in a war or in a catastrophy. Many claim to have been saved by that divine force, but what about all those who did not? Why did the same force decide to save this bugger, but not all the little children and even babies killed in those situations?

One of my all time favourite bands, Motörhead asks the relevant questions in this song linked here. And adequately answers them also. Or do you think you have better answers?
