In the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), that is the major medievalist group in the US and wery big in many other western nations, people create characters from quite a large timespan from the 6th to the 16th centuries. Now, americans are known to be rather superstitious people. So much so that they do not even mark the 13th level of buildings because they fear the number so much. What I would like to know, is wether this fear has affected many of them not to choose a character from the 13th century?
